The chart below shows the changes that took place in three different areas of crime in newport city centre from 2003-2012.

The change in rate of crime for Newport city between 2003-2012 has been shown in a form of line chart that includes incidents of burglary, car theft and robbery cases.

Overall, Robbery cases were at lowest between the given period as compared to other crimes that are burglary and car theft. burglary cases have been seen decreased and after 2008 and it was nearly constant. Robbary cases have been reduced in 2006 but slight increase in trend has been seen till 2012.

In 2003, No. of Burglary cases were 3400 after that it increased to 3700 and then it was decreasing constantly between 2004 to 2008 and reached to all time minimum of 1100 cases. constant trend has been noted after 2008 with average crime numbers of 1400.

Incident of car theft over the period remains nearly same to about 2500 incidents. Initially, it was about 2700 cases till 2005 and then constant numbers of cases were there between 2006 to 2009. Slight increase has been seen after 2009 and finally no. of case reached to 2700 in 2012.

Robbery cases were constant between given period that ranges from 500 to 800 incidents.
