The line graph illustrates the proportion of four different materials such as plastics, aluminium cans , glass containers and paper &cardboard from the years 1982 to 2010 in a particular country .
Overall , the recycling rate was higher for paper & cardboard while the least recycled material were plastics. On the other hand , glass containers and aluminium cans , though were not a popularchoice for recycling in the past , their recycling rates have increased in recent years.
In the year 1982 , the recycling rate of paper and cardboard was around 65% , which was the highest among all the materials . The rate was about 80% in the year 1994 and since then , there has been a gradual decrease untill 2010. Plastics on the other hand , accounted the lowest recycling rate, just below 5% in 1990 to approximately 9% in 2010 .
While glass containers’ reusable rates rose gradually from around 40% in 1994 to about 60% in 2010 , aluminium cans saw a sharp rise, whose recycling rate increased from around 5% in the year 1986 to approximately 45% in the year 2010.
