The chart shows the percentage of women and men in one Asian country who passed when they took their driving test between 1980 and 2010.
The chart illustrates the number of people in different sexes succeeding in their driving test in one Asian nation over the course of 30 years, starting in 1980.
As can be seen from the chart, both men and women's percentages witnessed a rise throughout the survey with the figure for the former lower than that for the latter group.
In particular, almost half of the women in the country passed the driving exam in 1980, as opposed to well under a third of men. The next 20 years recorded a two-stage growth in the number of females succeeding in the test, first gradually to above 50% in 1990 then rocketed to nearly 70% in the following 10 years. This was also the highest percentage registered in the survey. After that, the figure slightly decreased by 5% in 2010.
Meanwhile, the same pattern happened with the percentages of men passing the driving test in the first 20-surveyed years. Standing at nearly 30% in 1980, the number increased to approximately 38% in the next 10 years before reaching the 1990's figure of the women in 2000. Then, it plateauted until the end of the survey.
